[01] PM Karamanlis holds meeting with FM BakoyannisPrime minister Costas Karamanlis met Friday with foreign minister Dora Bakoyannis at the government headquarters at Maximos Mansion.Earlier, he met with visiting German parliament (Bundestag) president Norbert Lammert. Meanwhile, development minister Dimitris Sioufas on Thursday briefed President of the Republic Karolos Papoulias on the draft agreement between Greece, Bulgaria and Russia for the construction and operation of the Burgas-Alexandroupoli oil pipeline, which was initialled in Burgas on Wednesday by representatives of the three countries. The final tripartite agreement is slated to be signed in Athens in early March, while the exact date will be finalised through diplomatic channels. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Sioufas described the long-awaited agreement as "a national success". The pipeline, he continued, was supplementary to the shipment routes of the Bosporus. Sioufas explained that the Burgas-Alexandroupoli oil pipeline, together with the Greece-Turkey natural gas pipeline, and compounded by the creation and operation of the SE Europe Energy Community, would upgrade Greece into an energy corridor between east and west both towards Europe and the Balkan hinterland. Stamboglis) -- Greece's national economy and finance minister George Alogoskoufis on Friday said he looked forward to a doubling of Greek exports to India, following a meeting in New Delhi with India's minister of commerce and industry Kamal Nath.Alogoskoufis, who is on an official visit to India at the head of a large business delegation, also called for an increase in investments both in India by Greek entrepreneurs, and in Greece by Indian businessmen. The Greek minister further outlined to Nath the important role played by Greece in the wider region of Southeastern Europe. The two ministers also agreed that the Doha Round of the World Trade Organisation's (WTO) developmental negotiations should continue, with the talks having a positive conclusion.
