    An international ports trade fair opened in Piraeus on Friday covering construction, infrastructure, development and ports and marina management.

    Inaugurating the event was Merchant Marine Minister George Anomeritis.

    [03] Greek stocks ease further, correction continues

    Greek stocks ended the last trading session of the week lower as investors continued taking profits, this time from smaller capitalisation stocks, in the Athens Stock Exchange.

    The general index fell 0.31 percent to end at 1,905.83 points, for a net loss of 0.25 percent in the week.

    Turnover was a reduced 141.7 million euros.

    The Textile, Food-Beverage and IT sectors suffered the heaviest percentage losses of the day (3.15 percent, 2.0 percent and 1.83 percent, respectively), while the Publication, Construction and Wholesale sectors scored the biggest percentage gains (2.85 percent, 1.54 percent and 1.17 percent, respectively).

    The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavy traded stocks fell 0.67 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index eased 0.77 percent, the FTSE/ASE SmallCap 80 index dropped 1.66 percent and the wider FTSE/ASE 140 index ended 0.80 percent down.

    Broadly, decliners led advancers by 246 to 73 with another 39 issues unchanged.

    Unsettled weather is forecast in many parts of the country, with cloud, showers and storms likely on the mainland after a sunny start. Winds northerly, light to strong. In the north, temperatures will range from 17C to 30C; on the rest of the mainland from 19C to 32C; and in the islands from 21C to 32C. Temperatures in Athens between 24C and 32C; and in Thessaloniki from 20C to 30C.
