It will rain in the eastern Aegean and Dodecanese islands from afternoon. Winds west-southwesterly, light to moderate. In the north, temperatures will range from 11C to 20C; on the rest of the mainland from 12C to 24C; and in the Aegean islands from 15C to 25C. Temperatures in Athens between 15C and 23C; and in Thessaloniki from 12C to 20C. [03] Greek stocks plunge to new multi-year lows07/10/2002 16:35:09Greek stocks plunged to new multi-year lows in the Athens Stock Exchange on Monday as seller retained the upper hand hit by a negative climate in international markets. The general index ended 2.63 percent lower at 1,745.26 points, reflecting losses in blue chip stocks like Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation (down 3.57 percent). Turnover was a low 66.5 million euros. The Textile, Wholesale, Insurance and Retail sectors suffered the heaviest percentage losses of the day (5.71 percent, 4.85 percent, 4.19 percent and 4.12 percent, respectively), while the Industrial and Food-Beverage sectors suffered the smallest losses (2.37 percent and 1.96 percent). The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavy traded stocks dropped 2.83 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index ended 3.04 percent lower and the FTSE/ASE SmallCap 80 index fell 2.82 percent.
