Winds northwesterly, light to moderate, turning strong in the southeastern Aegean. In the north, temperatures will range from 18C to 34C; on the rest of the mainland and in the Ionian from 20C to 36C; and in the Aegean islands from 22C to 32C. Temperatures in Athens between 24C and 35C. Same in Thessaloniki with temperatures from 20C to 33C. [03] Greek investors take profits on Friday02/08/2002 16:35:17Greek stocks ended the last trading session of a positive week lower in the Athens Stock Exchange as investors prefered to take profits ahead of the weekend. The general index fell 0.90 percent to end at 2,105.27 points, off the day's lows helped by a late wave of buying in blue chip stocks. Turnover was a record-low for the year of 53.7 million euros. The Holding and Retail sectors were the only ones to scored gains (up 0.68 and 0.19 percent, respectively), while the Metals, Telecommuications and Construction sectors suffered the heaviest percentage losses of the day (1.83 percent, 1.66 percent and 1.37 percent, respectively). The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavy traded stocks ended 0.71 percent lower, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index eased 0.73 percent and the FTSE/ASE SmallCap 80 index dropped 0.91 percent. Broadly, decliners led advancers by 221 to 86 with another 44 issues unchanged. The general index ended the week with a net gain of 2.27 percent.
