    Hot, sunny weather is forecast in all parts of the country. Winds northwesterly, light to moderate, turning strong in parts of the Aegean. In the north, temperatures will range from 17C to 32C; on the rest of the mainland and in the Ionian from 19C to 35C; and in the Aegean islands from 22C to 31C. Temperatures in Athens between 23C and 34C. Same in Thessaloniki with temperatures from 19C to 32C.

    Greek stocks returned to positive territory on Thursday, after Wednesday's fall, led by gains in blue chip stocks like Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation (up 3.53 percent), although the wider market recorded losses in the Athens Stock Exchange.

    The general index rose 0.42 percent to end at 2,124.29 points, with turnover a low 83.8 million euros.

    The Telecommunications and Retail sectors scored the biggest percentage gains of the day (up 2.24 percent and 0.62 percent, respectively), while the Textile and IT Solution sectors suffered the heaviest losses (2.54 percent and 1.87 percent, respectively).

    The parallel market index for smaller capitalisation stocks fell 0.80 percent.

    The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavy traded stocks rose 0.42 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index eased 0.37 percent and the FTSE/ASE SmallCap 80 index fell 0.82 percent.

    Broadly, decliners led advancers by 227 to 90 with another 41 issues unchanged.
