[02] Weather Forecast: Isolated showers, storms on Tuesday

Isolated showers and storms are forecast in most parts of the country, mostly from late afternoon. Winds variable, light to moderate. In the north, temperatures will range from 14C to 28C; in the Ionian and on the rest of the mainland from 18C to 32; and in the Aegean islands from 22C to 31C. Temperatures in Athens between 22C and 32C. Same in Thessaloniki with temperatures from 17C to 28C.

[03] Greek stocks surge 2.75 percent on Monday

Greek stocks surged 2.75 percent on Monday reflecting strong buying interest in blue chip stocks in the Athens Stock Exchange. Buying was encouraged by a positive climate in other European markets.

The general index ended 2.75 percent higher at 2,115.66 points, with turnover an improved 96.3 million euros.

The Banks, Telecommunications and Textile sectors scored the biggest percentage gains of the day (3.42 percent, 3.22 percent and 2.79 percent, respectively).

The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavy traded stocks rose 3.14 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index ended 1.89 percent higher and the FTSE/ASE SmallCap 80 index ended 2.40 percent up.

Broadly, advancers led decliners by 272 to 54 with another 34 issues unchanged.

[04] Latest terrorist suspect confesses to N17 involvement

The latest in a bevy of arrested suspects linked with the notorious ?November 17? urban terrorist group confessed on Sunday to taking part in several attacks carried out by the group, before requesting and receiving a 48-hour stay in order to provide testimony to a special appellate-level magistrate.

Patroklos Tselentis, who allegedly operated under the aliases of "Alekos" or "Tenias", told appeals court magistrate Leonidas Zervobeakos that he had taken part in the assassination of a local industrialist, Dimitris Angelopoulos, an Athens newspaper publisher, Nicos Momferatos and US military attache William Nordeen, among others.

According to the same sources, Savvas Xiros, whose arrest exactly one month ago provided authorities with a veritable ?Rosetta Stone? breakthrough in tracking down the elusive terrorist group, also completed his bedside testimony before a local prosecutor. An indictment is expected on Monday against Xiros, the sometime church mural painter that is still recovering from a botched bombing attempt that landed him in custody.
