[01] Weather Forecast: Sunny on Wednesday09/10/2001 19:12:44Sunny weather is forecast for Greece on Wednesday. Light northerly winds in western Greece, northerly moderate winds in the east turning to strong in the Aegean. In the north, temperatures will range from 13C to 29C, in the west from 15C to 31C and in the rest of the country from 18C to 28C. Sunny in Athens, some cloud in the north and east, with temperatures between 19C and 30C. Scattered cloud in Thessaloniki with temperatures from 16C to 28C. [02] Development ministry to announce suggested fuel retail prices on daily basis09/10/2001 18:08:26The ministry of development announced on Tuesday that daily fuel pricing system will be put into effect. This measure is already employed in most European countries and with the aid of all those involved in marketing the product it would be beneficial to the consumers, the ministry's announcement noted. The daily pricing will be based on a formula that takes into account the median of international prices of the day the product was loaded for transport and those of the previous three working days. The suggested retail prices will be announced by the ministry on a daily basis. Following the meeting, Papazoi noted that she and the premier discussed issues related to the European Union, in relation to the new conditions created by the American reaction to the terrorist attack in the United States on Sept. 11. [04] 10-ton-truck demolishes house, kills mother and daughter09/10/2001 16:09:32A 75-year-old woman and her 54-year-old daughter were killed on Tuesday afternoon in Thessaloniki, when the driver of a 10-ton truck lost control of his vehicle and hit their home demolishing it almost completely. Irini Stoltidou and her daughter Georgia Piperidou were killed when George Palaska's truck lost its breaks fell on seven cars, injuring seven people and did not stop until it hit and demolished the house of the two women. The driver and the seven injured were taken to hospitals of the city. [05] Greece donates 100 million drachmas worth of medical equipment to four countries09/10/2001 15:49:05Greece will provide 100 million drachmas in medical equipment to hospitals and clinics of the Palestinian Authority, Ethiopia, Armenia and Kenya, according to an aid program approved by Health and Welfare Minister Alekos Papadopoulos on Tuesday. According to the program, 30 million drachmas worth of medical equipment will be donated to the "Amsu Raghia" medical center of Ramala, 30 million drachmas worth of equipment will be donated to the clinics and hospitals of the Ethiopian Orthodox Patriarchate, 15 million drachmas worth of anesthesiology equipment will be donated to an Armenian hospital and 25 million drachmas worth of x-ray equipment will be donated to a Kenyan hospital.
