The volume of building activity, based on building permits, increased
7.3 percent in June to 6.3 million cubic metres from 5.87 million in
the same month in 1999, National Statistics Service said on Monday.
Building activity rose 12 percent in the Attica region and by 5.4
percent in the rest of the country.
The NSS said that the building materials price index was unchanged in
August from the previous month.
The index, however, was 2.1 percent, higher on a year-on-year basis
from the same month last year.
