MIDDAY EXPRESSNews from the Communication Directorate General's midday briefingNouvelles du rendez-vous de midi de la Direction Générale Communicationb27/08/07[01] Commissioner Kyprianou visits Monaco for meeting with Prince Albert and to launch physical activity campaign with UEFAEU Health Commissioner Markos Kyprianou will visit the Principality of Monaco on 30 August for a meeting with Prince Albert and to launch a new joint campaign by the European Commission and UEFA to promote physical activity. The Commissioner will meet Prince Albert at 15:00 to discuss issues of mutual interest to the EU and the Principality in the field of public health. The Commission-UEFA advertising campaign aims to motivate Europeans to make physical activity a part of their daily lives, at a time when people are leading increasingly sedentary lives and obesity is on the rise across Europe. The campaign, which will be broadcast on television Europe-wide during Champions League matches, will be presented to journalists by Commissioner Kyprianou and UEFA President Michel Platini at 12:30, on the occasion of the Champions League draw in Monaco. Television pictures of the launch, with statements by the Commissioner and Michel Platini will be available from EBS on 30 August, as will the English and French language versions of the advertisement itself. A press release on the campaign will be issued on 30 August and the advertisement will also be presented in the press room in Brussels. Footage of the Commissioner's meeting with Prince Albert will also be available from EBS on 30 August.[02] Avian Influenza: Highly pathogenic H5N1 virus confirmed in BavariaThe European Commission was informed by the German authorities on Saturday of an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza on a duck farm in Bavaria, in a region where infected wild birds were detected in July and early August. ECAS détient des investissements dans des sociétés de portefeuille. 3i est une société internationale de capital-investissement et Hejenion, un sous-traitant pour la logistique industrielle.
