[01] Cavusoglu asked for Azerbaijan's support for the occupation regime to obtain an observer status at TURKPA

Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris newspaper (26.02.15) reports that the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu who is carrying out officials contacts in Azerbaijan, asked for Azerbaijan's support in order for the "TRNC" to obtain the observer status at the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking countries (TURKPA).

Stating that the "TRNC" has observer status at the Organization for Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation (OEC), Cavusoglu expressed hopes that it will obtain an observer status a TURKPA as well.

Cavusoglu held separate meetings with Azeri Prime Minister Artur Rasizade and the Speaker of the Assembly Oktay Esedov.

[02] Eroglu: "It is not possible to reach an agreement that will not include Turkey's guarantees"

Under the above title, Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris newspaper (26.02.15) reports that Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu, in statements yesterday while visiting the occupied villages of Kythrea, Trachoni and Neochorio Kythreas, said, inter alia, that Cyprus is the only country in the Eastern Mediterranean where there is no bloodshed and alleged that this is due to the existence of Turkey's active and effective guarantees.

Stating that it is not possible to reach to an agreement which will not include Turkey's guarantees, Eroglu added: "Our vision is the integration of the Turkish Cypriot community with the international community, while at the same time, our national security is considered very important".

Alleging that there is peace in Cyprus at the moment and that what it lacks is an agreement, Eroglu called the Greek Cypriot side to return to the negotiating table and added that the negotiating table is the place for the agreement to be reached.

Eroglu accused again President Nikos Anastasiades for abandoning the negotiation process by presenting several pretexts, especially during a period as he said, that the mutual give-take process was about to start.

Claiming that he is still at the negotiating table, Eroglu criticized the Republican Turkish Party-United Forces (CTP-BG) for accusing him that he is not in favor of the solution and alleged that CTP reiterates continuously the same things and does not use any other expression than the word "solution".

[03] Eroglu responds to "flag issue crisis"

Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris newspaper (26.02.15) reports that Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu in a written statement yesterday responded to the criticism he received by several circles in the occupied area of Cyprus and especially the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot social media, that he has violated the "election restrictions law" and the "flag law".

Eroglu was responding to the criticism he received yesterday after the publication of a photograph presenting him speaking during an event he attended within the framework of his "election campaign". The picture shows him at a table covered with both flags of Turkey and the "TRNC" and food on top.

Turkish Cypriot and Turkish social media covered the story widely yesterday criticizing Eroglu for not respecting the flags and for violating the "election restrictions" related with the "flag".

In the written statement, Eroglu clarified that he has always showed respect for the "national flags" and felt honoured to protect both the Turkish and "TRNC" flags.

Eroglu said that various circles in the "TRNC" have taken advantage of this photograph in order to serve their political purposes and added that this was saddening, since the people who organized the event organized it with good intentions. "People who knew me, know that I am a person with values", Eroglu said, adding that his main mission is to protect those "flags".
