Addressing journalists at the Esenboga Airport in Ankara after his arrival Akbulut said that he had held very productive talks with Rauf Denktash , Ertugrul Hasipoglu, the so-called speaker of the pseudo-assembly, and other high-level "officials".

"Turkey and the TRNC share the same opinions on all issues. It is very confidential. I am very pleased with developments TRNC recorded in 17 years although it was exposed to illegal embargoes", he claimed.

Stressing that he had exchanged opinions on the Cyprus question with Denktash, Akbulut said, "lasting solution cannot be reached with those who do not recognize existence of two separate states, and who ignore the facts on the island".
