[01] President: Two sides expected to conclude exchange of documentsThe exchange of documents between the two communities in Cyprus on the chapter of property is expected to be completed on Tuesday, as was the request by the UN Secretary General, President of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Christofias has said.He also assured he would not accept the convening of an international conference on the Cyprus problem, if the conditions set by the UN Security Council are not met. Speaking on his return to the Presidential Palace after a meeting with Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu, in the context of UN-led direct negotiations to solve the Cyprus problem, President Christofias said that they discussed procedural issues and that he clarified the conditions set by the Greek Cypriot side regarding an international conference. ``I was given the opportunity to clarify that forcing the process was unacceptable and that if the conditions set by the Security Council itself are not met, then in no case will we accept an international conference,`` he pointed out. Replying to questions, President Christofias said that Eroglu`s positions on an international conference differ and that the Greek Cypriot side has clarified who should take part in such a conference, which includes the Republic of Cyprus. President Christofias also said that his next meeting with Eroglu would be on February 21, with the chapter of property on the agenda. Regarding the exchange of documents, President Christofias said the Greek Cypriot side has already given the requested information, while that given by the Turkish Cypriot side is inadequate. [02] Buttenheim: Leaders discuss procedural mattersThe leaders of the two communities in Cyprus, namely President of the Repuplic Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot Leader Dervis Eroglu, discussed procedural matters during their meeting today, in the context of the UN-led direct talks to solve Cyprus problem.Speaking to the press, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Cyprus Lisa Buttenheim said the leaders met for nearly two hours, adding that they exchanged views on procedural matters. She said that they agreed to meet next Tuesday in the morning. Buttenheim said that at that meeting they will discuss property. The leaders, she continued, also agreed to meet the following Tuesday 28th of February. [03] Cyprus and France join forces against organised crimeCyprus and France signed on Tuesday a Memorandum of Cooperation on combating crime.The Memorandum was signed by Cyprus Attorney General Petros Clerides and French Director for Criminal Affairs and Pardons Maryvonne Caillibotte, in the presence of Minister of Justice and Public Order Lucas Luca, Police Chief Michalis Papageorgiou and French Ambassador to Cyprus Jean Marc-Rives. Speaking after the signing ceremony, Clerides said the Memorandum provides for the setting up of joint action groups to facilitate the establishment of a flexible body that would combat organized crime which in many cases is associated with terrorism. ``We consider this agreement as an important development because it is the first such agreement signed in relation to this issue and I believe that this agreement is particularly important as it is signed with France, one of the major EU member-states, a country, with which our ties are close and we hope to enhance them even further`` he said. [04] APOEL faces Ol. Lyonnais in Champions LeagueAPOEL FC faces Tuesday night Olympique Lyonnais for the Champions League knockout stage. The match will be held in Stade de Gerland in Lyon and will begin on 21:45 local time (19.45 GMT).APOEL has already made history as it became the first Cypriot football club to reach the knockout phase of the UEFA Champions League, after finishing first in Group G. Ivan Jovanovic, APOEL coach, said the club, considered as the underdog, seeks a result which would give hopes for the second leg to be held in GSP stadium Nicosia on March 7. ``We would like to have a result which would give meaning to the second match.
