  • [01] GREEK FM CYPRUS - VISIT

Greece and Cyprus share brotherhood bonds and Greece will always stand by Cyprus, Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Demetris Droutsas said.

Cyprus is my second home and whenever I travel here I get very emotional, he added.

Speaking to reporters upon arriving on the island on Monday for a visit, Droutsas also stated that there are current developments on a local and regional level and therefore we need to be alert and in constant consultation.

He said that in his meetings with President Demetris Christofias, Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcos Kyprianou and the leaderships of the political parties, he will have the chance to prepare our next moves, considering the fact that I will hold meetings in London and New York in the following days.

Later on Monday, Droutsas will attend a dinner hosted by President Christofias.

On Tuesday he will have separate consecutive meetings with President of the House of Representatives Marios Garoyian and the leaders of the parliamentary parties. He will also hold talks with his Cypriot counterpart.

He departs from the island on Tuesday afternoon.
