Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yiannis Valinakis has sent a
message to Turkey that it must respond to the commitments it has
undertaken before the EU, noting that the EU has its own logic and this
was not the logic of an oriental bargaining.
For us it is clear, Turkey has undertaken commitments and it must
respond to them. The message to Turkey is therefore this: The EU has
its own logic, it does not have the logic of an oriental bargaining,
Valinakis said after being received by Cypriot President Tassos
Papadopoulos at the Presidential Palace.
Regarding the Cyprus problem, the Greek Deputy Foreign Minister said
our positions are known; we want a solution, viable, functional and
just, within the framework of European principles and values.
