Britain continues to encourage Turkey to fulfill the requirements
related to the Ankara Protocol, extending its customs union with the EU
to the ten new member states, including the Republic of Cyprus.
``We continue to encourage Turkey to fulfill their requirements related
to the Protocol,`` the spokesman said, in response to a question about
reports that London and Washington are examining ways to submit a
proposal to postpone implementation of the Protocol for a year.
