    Cypriot President to attend European Council

    Nicosia, Jun 14 (CNA) Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos leaves for Brussels on Thursday to take part in the European Council from 16-17 June.

    President Papadopoulos will be accompanied by Foreign Minister George Iacovou, said Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides. He returns to Cyprus on Saturday.

    Greek Tourism Development Minister to visit Cyprus

    Nicosia, Jun 14 (CNA) Greeces Minister of Tourism Development Demetris Avramopoulos will pay an official visit to Cyprus June 17-19, during which he will hold talks with Cypriot Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism George Lillikas and will meet representatives of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, hoteliers, tourist agents and other tourism business people.

    He will be accompanied by the President of the Greek Tourism Organisation, the President of the Tourist Agents Association and other Greek officials.

    The Gambia renounces Turkish allegations

    Nicosia, Jun 14 (CNA) The Gambia assured Cyprus that it fully abides by the decisions of the UN Security Council and will not recognize or establish diplomatic relations with the puppet regime in the Turkish occupied part of Cyprus.

    The statement was made by Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of The Gambia Musa Gibril Bala-Gaye to Cypriot Ambassador Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis, Director of the Cyprus Question and EU Affairs Department of the Foreign Minister, during a three day visit she paid to Banjul, the capital of the Republic of The Gambia.

    Gaye was responding to reports in the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot press following a visit to The Gambia by so-called foreign minister of the pseudostate Serdar Denktash.
