Senior US State Department official on a European tour for Cyprus

Washington, Apr 26 (CNA) -- US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Laura Kennedy begins a tour of five European capitals for contacts on the question of Cyprus.

On Sunday, she will be in Ankara, on Tuesday in Athens and on Thursday in Nicosia. She will then move on to Brussels on May 7 and in London on May 9.

A State Department official has said that the tour aims to seek ways to resume negotiations for a political settlement in Cyprus.
