[01] Weather forecast for Cyprus1145:CYPPRESS:01Weather forecast for Cyprus Nicosia, Jan 6 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus: Friday and Saturday: 07/01/2005 to 8/1/2005 ------- On Friday the weather will be mainly fine during the day, although some snow may fall over Troodos mountains in the afternoon. Overnight some local showers are expected to develop, falling as snow over Troodos mountains. Gentle and locally up to moderate southeasterly to southwesterly winds will be blowing during the day, while northeasterly to southeasterly winds of the same intensity, will prevail during the night. The state of sea will be generally slight and a the windward sites up to moderate al all times. Maximum temperature 16-17C inland, 18-19C over the coasts and around 6-7Cover Prodromos. Minimum temperature 4-5C inland, 7-9C over the coasts and 0-1C over Prodromos. On Saturday local showers are expected and snow over Troodos mountains. Moderate to fresh northeasterly to southeasterly winds will be blowing, expected strong at times at the windward sites. The state of sea will be moderate becoming progressively up to rough. Maximum temperature will note a couple of degrees fall. Outlook for Sunday and Saturday: 09/01/2005 to 10/01/2005 Mainly fine with temporal cloud. Risk of some snow showers over Troodos, initially on Sunday. Maximum temperature is expected to rise.
