Mist or patches and low cloud towards dawn. Wind: Westerly to Southwesterly gentle to moderate during the day. Westerly to Northwesterly light to gentle during the night. Maximum temperature: 37C inland, around 32C over south coastal areas and 30C over west coast and 27C over Prodromos. Minimum temperature: Around 22C inland and over coastal areas and 18C over Prodromos.     Nicosia, Aug 5 (CNA) -- The issue of missing persons is purely humanitarian and the Cyprus government does not intend to get involved into a political discussion or exploitation of the issue, Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides said here today.

    Cyprus government: T/Cs can have access to Kokkina by land

    Nicosia, Aug 5 (CNA) -- The Cyprus government has given its consent so that Turkish Cypriots will be able to visit next Sunday the Turkish occupied village of Kokkina by land.

    Kokkina, a coastal village in northeast Cyprus, was the epicentre of intercommunal clashes in 1964, when Turkish airforce planes bombed Greek Cypriot villages in the area. Kokkina is accessible only through the free areas of the Republic or by sea.

    Nicosia, Aug 5 (CNA) -- The Cyprus Education Ministry is ready to take all necessary measures for the immediate reopening of Rizokarpaso Gymnasium in the Turkish occupied Karpass peninsula, Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides announced today.

    The spokesman said that ''for a very long time now the government has been acting in a discreet way and quietly so that Rizokarpaso Gymnasium reopens, something that, as it seems, that will be the case.''

    Famagusta should return to lawful residents, says Spokesman

    Nicosia, Aug 5 (CNA) -- The issue of the Famagusta port is absolutely related to the issue of the return of Famagusta town, under Turkish occupation since 1974, to its lawful inhabitants, Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides has said.

    He noted that Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos has already submitted his proposals on the issue of Famagusta to EU Commissioner Gunter Verheugen.

    Cyprus government aware of British Bases intention to operate two antennas

    Nicosia, Aug 5 (CNA) -- Cyprus Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides said here Thursday that there are reports that the British Bases in Cyprus will simultaneously operate two big antennas in the area.

    He told reporters that the government is closely monitoring the situation and that the original agreement with the British Bases provided for the alternate operation of the antennas and not simultaneous.

    Nicosia, Aug 5 (CNA)-- The Turkish Cypriot side will fully cooperate on the humanitarian issue of the missing persons, Republican Turkish Party leader Mehmet Ali Talat has said here Thursday.
