    Weather forecast for Cyprus

    Nicosia, Feb 10 (CNA) - The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

    On Tuesday (February 11) some local showers are expected late in the afternoon. Winds will be easterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 beaufort, over slight to moderate seas. Temperatures will reach 16 degrees Celsius inland and along the coast, and 4 degrees over the mountains.

    On Wednesday (February 12) the weather will be mostly cloudy with showers and isolated thunderstorms, and snow over the mountains. Temperatures will not change significantly.

    On Thursday (February 13) and Friday (February 14), local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, with snow over the mountains. No significant change in temperatures is expected.

    Nicosia, Feb 10 (CNA) -- The Greek Cypriot and the Turkish Cypriot sides had two hours of substantive negotiations today, in the context of the UN-led peace talks on the Cyprus problem, Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou has said.

    Cyprus and Italy sign customs agreement

    Nicosia, Feb 10 (CNA) -- Cyprus and Italy signed here today a cooperation agreement between the customs and excise departments to prevent, investigate and combat drug trafficking and other customs related offences.

    ''The agreement seals the excellent relations we have with Italy in this field. Cyprus as a future EU member has additional responsibilities in the fight against drugs and illegal trade,'' Minister of Finance Takis Klerides said at the signing ceremony.
