Lebanon interested in joint flights with Cyprus
Nicosia, Sep 22 (CNA) - Lebanese President Emile Lahoud has expressed
his interest in the issue of a possible cooperation between the
airlines of Cyprus and Lebanon, Cyprus Airways and Middle East
Airlines, with a view to start direct flights with the United States.
Lahoud discussed the matter with Cyprus Minister of Commerce, Industry
and Tourism Nicos Rolandis who recently visited Beirut, at the
invitation of the Lebanese Energy and Water Minister Mohammed Abdel
Hamied Beydoun.
Speaking to CNA Rolandis noted that Lebanon's Prime Minister Rafiq
Hariri, Minister of Tourism Karam Karam and Civil Aviation General
Director Hamdi Chok, with whom he also met, were also interested in
this venture.
