The decisions, which will be decoded into agreements and protocols, were agreed here Monday during a meeting of the two ministers, Nicos Rolandis and Akis Tsohatzopoulos respectively. Rolandis gave Tsohatzopoulos a list of development plans in the fields of energy, industry and tourism which are scheduled by his ministry in the next five years, estimated to cost 2.055.000.000 dollars. On his part, Tsohatzopoulos said there is potential for cooperation. Regarding tourism, Tsohatzopoulos said part of the agreement is to open a Greek Tourism Organisation office in Cyprus and increase the number of visitors from Greece to Cyprus. A tourism cooperation memorandum will be signed tomorrow between the chairmen of the Greek and Cypriot tourism organisations. It is estimated that around 270.000 Cypriots visited Greece last year and it is expected that this year the number will rise to 300.000. Rolandis said another agreement that will be signed tomorrow concerns high technology, a sector that he described as "very significant". Both countries will exchange information on high tech incubators. Rolandis said he hopes this sector will change the industrial vision of Cyprus. Speaking after being received by President Glafcos Clerides, Tsohatzopoulos said both countries are "cooperating to promote a development course". "The fundamental aim of both ministries, he said, "is bilateral cooperation in making use of technological advances in applied technology" and helping companies make use of the technology to become productive and competitive and survive in the new European environment.
