[01] One of five helicopter crash victims buried today2055:CYPPRESS:12One of five helicopter crash victims buried today Nicosia, Jul 11 (CNA) - Relatives, friends and army officers bid their last farewell to 26-year-old Flank Officer Michalis Shakallis, who was killed in a helicopter crash at dawn yesterday, in the Paphos district. His funeral was held this afternoon in Nicosia in a downpour of mid-Summer rain. He was the first of the five officers killed in the crash to be buried. The other four are National Guard Commander Lieutenant General Evangelos Florakis, Air Force Commander Brigadier Stelios Demenagas, Lieutenant Nikos Georgiou and Flight Lieutenant Paris Athanasiades. Shakallis' funeral was attended by hundreds of people, among whom Ministers and other government officials, political party representatives, high-ranking officers of the National Guard and Police Force, and Ambassadors. President of the Republic Glafcos Clerides, House of Representatives President Demetris Christofias and ailing Archbishop Chrysostomos were represented at the funeral. The Greek and Cypriot flags were draped over Shakallis' coffin. Laid out on top were his cap and sword. Later on, the body of Brigadier Demenagas was on a C130 military plane on its way back to Greece, along with his cap and medals. The coffin was wrapped in the Greek flag. The Brigadier's funeral will be held on Saturday in Athens. [02] Kasoulides says Loizidou case to be debated continuously2100:CYPPRESS:13Kasoulides says Loizidou case to be debated continuously Nicosia, Jul 11 (CNA) -- The Luxemburg Chairmanship of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers intends to debate in every meeting of the Committee concerning human rights issues, the matter of Turkey's compliance with the European Court of Human Rights' (ECHR) decision for compensating Greek Cypriot refugee Titina Loizidou, Foreign Minster Ioannis Kasoulides said today. "During the last meeting of the Committee of Ministers' Deputies, Turkey showed again no intention to comply with the decision of ECHR", Kasoulides said.
