    Nicosia, May 21 (CNA) - Brian Kelly, a UN official with long experience in UN information activities, has been appointed as Spokesperson of the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces in Cyprus (UNFICYP). Kelly, from Ireland, assumes his duties today.

    [04] Interior Minister - Sweden - Informal Ministerial Meeting

    Nicosia, May 21 (CNA) � Interior Minister Christodoulos Christodoulou pledged on Monday the government's support to efforts by the Swedish presidency of the European Union (EU) to introduce a dialogue among the EU, candidate states and countries of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) to tackle audiovisual issues of concern.

    Addressing an informal meeting of ministers for Cultural Affairs in Falun, Sweden, Christodoulou expressed Cyprus' intention to participate the soonest in the next phase of the Media Plus programme, which is being implemented for EU member states since the start of the year.
