    [01] Greek Ministers - Visit

    Nicosia, Feb 18 (CNA) - Greek Ministers of Macedonia-Thraki George Paschalides and of the Aegean Nicos Sifounakis arrive here today, heading a large delegation, on an official four-day visit to the island at the invitation of the Minister of Finance Takis Klerides.

    The visit is part of the preparatory work for the start of a programme entitled "Thraki-the Aegean-Cyprus" that aims at promoting this region's civilisation and environment through specific proposals and actions.

    [02] Interior Minister - Elections

    Nicosia, Feb 18 (CNA) -- The government has announced that in May's parliamentary elections more polling stations will operate, the counting of votes will take place at the polling stations and the voting hours will be slightly different from past practice.

    Making the announcement, Interior Minister Christodoulos Christodoulou said 1200 polling stations will operate compared with 880 in the parliamentary elections of 1996 and those eligible to vote are expected to be 470.000 compared with 409.000 in May 1996. CNA MM/��/2001
