[01] Cyprus - Iraq - Trade delegation
Nicosia, Feb 9 (CNA) - A multi-member Cypriot trade delegation left early
this morning for Iraq, at the initiative of the Cyprus Ministry of Commerce,
Industry and Tourism and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry,
within the framework of the UN programme "Oil for Food".
The delegation represents 13 Cypriot industries and companies dealing with
the manufacture and promotion of products, such as medicines, food,
electrical goods, water pumps, pesticides etc.

[02] Cypriot writer - Troy - Atlantis
Nicosia, Feb 9 (CNA) - The theory that ancient Greeks discovered America
was first analysed in a book by Cypriot author Costas Socratous, "Troy, the
Metropolis of Atlantis", which was published in 1995.
The book, with the revolutionary theory that Troy was not in Asia Minor,
but in the Atlantic, between Europe and America, has reemerged after the
recent publication of this theory by professor Enrico Metievic of the
University of Peru.

[03] World Council of Churches - Cyprus
Nicosia, Feb 9 (CNA) - The World Council of Churches (WCC) has renewed its
appeal for "justice, peace, reconciliation and the reunification of Cyprus",
during a Central Committee meeting that took place in Berlin earlier this
week.
In a resolution on Cyprus, the WCC also assures the people of the island
and the Cyprus Church of its "continuing prayers that this long-standing
conflict will soon be settled through negotiation and this last wall of
separation in Europe finally will be brought down."

[04] Cyprus - Greece - Foreign Ministers
Athens, Feb 9 (CNA) - The Foreign Ministers of Cyprus and Greece, Ioannis
Kasoulides and George Papandreou, discussed today in Athens the Cyprus
problem and Cyprus' European Union (EU) accession course, as well as the
Middle East peace process, as Kasoulides had flown to Athens from Jordan,
and Papandreou will be visiting Lebanon and Jordan next week.
It was announced that Papandreou would be arriving in Cyprus on March 11
for a three-day visit, to return Kasoulides' trip to Athens.
