  • [05] Greek and Turkish Cypriot parties - Meeting Nicosia, Jan 16 (CNA) -- The Movement to Restructure the Centre (MRC) and the Turkish Cypriot Patriotic Union Movement (PUM) believe that all citizens have the duty to get involved in the process of finding a democratic solution to the Cyprus problem, so that Cyprus, as a unified state, may proceed towards the European Union (EU), having ensured all democratic and human rights for all citizens on the island. MRC's President, Kypros Chrysostomides, met today with PUM's General Secretary Izzet Izcan, who said he supported a solution guaranteeing the unity of Cyprus, as a member of the EU and the existence of an independent federal and sovereign state, in which the communities would be politically equal.
