[01] Dutch MP - Social Democrats leader
Nicosia, Jan 13(CNA) -- Dutch Labour Party deputy Frans Timmermans has said
that it would not be in anybody's interest to pose a problem for Cyprus'
accession to the European Union if a settlement to the political problem of
the island is not reached beforehand.
The Dutch MP, visiting Cyprus for meetings, said this "would in fact give a
right to veto to Turkey" and underlined the need for foreign deputies to
visit the island and get first hand knowledge of the situation.
