[04] President Clerides - Peace Talks

Nicosia, Aug 11 (CNA) - Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides said today that the Greek Cypriot side has requested from the UN Secretary General that the next round of proximity talks on the Cyprus problem be one of negotiations and not just a presentation of positions.

Speaking in Paphos, on his way to the Greek islands where he will spend his summer holidays, President Clerides said the Greek Cypriot side has informed the Secretary General that "September should be a month of negotiations and not just having each side outlining its positions", noting that "we have done this four times so far".
