    [02] British Minister - Strovilia

London, Jul 27 (CNA) -- British Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Keith Vaz, repeated his government's regret over the setting up of an illegal checkpoint by the Turkish occupation troops at the south-eastern village of Strovilia, noting, however, that the matter is fundamentally for the UN to resolve.

In a written reply to a question on the Turkish advancement in Strovilia, tabled in the House of Commons by Labour MP Tom Cox, Vaz says "this action is one of the measures taken by the Turkish Cypriots against UNFICYP (UN Peace-keeping Force in Cyprus), which we consider to be unjustified" and adds that Britain fully supports UN efforts for a resolution of this problem.

by Myria Antoniadou Geneva, Jul 27 (CNA) Political party leaders, in Geneva for the UN-led peace talks, continue their contacts with foreign envoys, in the wings of the talks, and though expressing some misgivings about the apparent lack of movement towards a settlement so far, they stress their adherence to the UN process.
