Nicosia, Jan 3 (CNA) -- German Ambassador to Cyprus, Peter Wittig, said
here today his country will follow and observe closely the ongoing
proximity talks for the Cyprus problem and "will stand ready to give advice
and to assist in the course of the talks."
Wittig, who was speaking after meeting this morning Cyprus President
Glafcos Clerides, also expressed confidence that the EU "enlargement
process will influence positively the endeavours being made towards a
solution of the Cyprus problem."
