NOVI GRAD - Our ideal is a wealthy society, because nothing can be solved in poverty, RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik said at the Inaugural Assembly of Novi Grad's Party of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD). "I expect soon increase of employment and standard of living, which is credit of SNSD, Socialist Party and Serbian National Union", the Prime Minister emphasised, adding that "independent social democrats will be a strong political factor at the next elections, because members of the party are people who are engaged in politics creatively". Zdravko Radmanovic was elected for the president of Independent Social Democrats' Municipal Board, and Bosko Bokan for its vice-president.

SALONIKA - If it was decided at the highest level for Kosovo to gain autonomy of higher level, it would be logical for the mediator to be the international power, which has quite influence on current happenings and can affect and guarantee reached agreements by its authority, well-informed diplomatic sources in Greece claim. Citing those sources, a correspondent of SRNA explains that the mediator would have to have great influence also on removing of sanctions on FR Yugoslavia, which includes her joining international institutions and currents.

BRATUNAC - Dragan Nikolic was elected for the president of the Municipal Board, and Mila Peric and Nedjo Trnicic for members of the Presidency at the Inaugural Assembly of Serbian National Union (SNS) in Bratunac. Nikolic emphasised that the idea to form this party appeared already in November 1997, and discontent of that time state leadership was one of main reasons reasons for that.

BANJALUKA - The RS President Biljana Plavsic said in Banjaluka that the U.S. Congress' delegation has shown during todays' visit interest whether RS was going in positive direction and where the money, given by the U.S.A. for peacekeeping in B&H, was invested. "They want to say the truth to their people and that kind of responsibility toward their own nation could be a lesson for all of us", the President Plavsic said after one-hour's meeting with the U.S. delegation, headed by a member of the U.S. Congress' House of Representatives, Bill Young. Young expressed content with the visit to RS, as well as with the fact that there was peace in B&H and democratic governments were being established in the whole region.

LINZ - The RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik assesses in Linz that RS was the leading one in the process of realisation of the Dayton peace accord and that the new Government had done everything in last 45 days to change the image of its country. "Revival of economy is the main problem at the moment. All international efforts to settle the situation in the region will fail unless economy flourishes", Dodik warned, adding that RS had immense capacities unused so far. He also pointed out to the press the difficulties in marketing of RS products abroad as a consequence of the current closed- door market.

BANJALUKA - The vice-president of the RS National Assembly and president of Serbian Radical Party (SRS) Nikola Poplasen assessed in Banjaluka that a period of stability, which obligates for all solutions to be found in the framework of the Dayton peace accord, was before RS and whole B&H. After talks with the U.S Ambassador to B&H Richard Kauzlarich Poplasen said solutions must not be to detriment of any nation or individual.

BANJALUKA - A round table conference was held in Banjaluka, discussing legal and economic aspects for return of refugees and displace persons, where its participants offered different initiatives for this complex political, law, economic, social-economic and cultural issue.
