NOV. 27 1997 DAY

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - During the last night meeting with the Ambassador of Portugal in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H), the President in (B&H) Presidency from Republika Srpska (RS) Momcilo Krajisnik expressed determination of the RS leaders to consistently fulfil the Dayton peace agreement. President Krajisnik assessed that the causes of problems in RS is an attempt to revise Dayton Agreement discretely, and warned that "agreed division of authority between RS and B&H had to be respected, because it represents a base of stabile and lasting peace".

BIJELJINA - At the parliamentary elections in RS the RS citizens once again showed the political awareness and determination to build their Republic which is based at the spirit of democracy and Dayton Agreement - said the statement of RS Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) which was forwarded to SRNA.

SARAJEVO - Today's session of House of Peoples within the B&H Parliamentary Assembly was delayed because of the proposed texts of the Laws about Council of Ministers, citizenship and passports were not harmonised by the members of Council of Ministers. "The sessions of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples will take place at December 2th and 3th. The deadline for adopting of the Laws is short because of the Conference in Bonn" - explained for SRNA the delegate of the House of Peoples Borislav Paravac.

BANJALUKA - At the press conference in Banjaluka the President of Serbian Patriotic Party Slavko Zupljanin stated that this party is satisfied with the results of parliamentary elections. According to Zupljanin the good side of these elections is, that not even one party will not have dominant authority in the state, and that, this will result with positive democratic processes.

BRCKO - The representatives of RS Border Police and IPTF in Brcko denied the Muslim media claims about restriction of freedom of movement at the border crossing over the Sava bridge toward Croatia, and violation of the supervisor's Robert Farrand directive. "Crossing of citizens and merchandise from B&H Federation (FB&H), Republic of Croatia and other countries, goes without problems in both directions, if they have a valid passenger identity paper and other documentation," - said the Commander of the Border Police Station Marko Purkovic in the statement for SRNA. According to Purkovic, the RS citizens cannot travel to Croatia, because the customs officials of this neighbouring state consider their documents as invalid.

DOBOJ - Commission on Missing Persons and the members of the RS Expert Team began search for posthumous remains of Serbs in the area of Ozren and Vozuca, which is partially extends in the FB&H territory. "Yesterday we tried to solve the fate of more than hundred missing persons, which are searched by our commission by searching through the terrain, but our efforts were futile" - it was reported by RS Republic Commission on Missing Persons. Commission searched the region of Djuric Vis and Kesten, but did not find any posthumous remains, so this work will be continued.

AMSTERDAM - The Dutch paper "NRC Handelsblat" quotes the opinion of an employee from Bijeljina, as the typical opinion, about early parliamentary elections in RS which claims that "Serbs do not wish to forget their victims of passed war, and that is why they voted for national option, what shows that they want their own state". These days, the Dutch press in few occasions has indirectly suggested that counting of ballots will not solve the political crisis in RS and that, in spite of all, the RS President Biljana Plavsic will not give up her positions conquered with the SFOR assistance.

BERLIN - At recently held Washington conference about the strategy for the year 1997 and the Balkan security, the fact that the Clinton's Administration, at any price, wants to ensure Izetbegovic's Islamic state, came to light - states the German Radio-Brandenburg. Relying on the conclusions of one American publication, the Radio reminds that "in the meantime USA spends millions of dollars for armament and training of Muslim army, which will for sure, against the Dayton Agreement, attack now weakly armed Serbs". The logical conclusion, is that an aim of the American diplomacy is to discourage and divide Serbs.
