Srpska Republika News Agency (SRNA), 97-04-17Srpska Republica News Agency (SRNA) Directory - Previous Article - Next ArticleFrom: The Serbian Unity Congress Server at http://www.suc.orgAPRIL 17 1997 DAYNEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKASARAJEVO - The president in the Presidency of B&H from Republika Srpska (RS), Momcilo Krajisnik, acquainted in Pale the ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Lee Chong Moa, with the current situation in B&H, turning to the inter-relations between RS and the Federation of B&H especially. 'The basic principles for the survival of B&H that we are just creating are the equality, partnership, consensus in the decision-making and that the representatives of both entities are represented in the joint institutions equally', said the president Krajisnik. The president Krajisnik and the co- chairman of the Council of Ministers of B&H, Boro Bosic, turned the ambassador's attention to the unequal distribution of the humanitarian aid in RS and the FB&H in the past time and interceded for the establishment of the economic cooperation between RS and the Republic of Korea.SARAJEVO - The RS minister of refugees and displaced persons, Ljubisa Vladusic, talked in Pale with the charge d'affaires of the Norwegian Embassy to Sarajevo, Mr. Giselssen, on the return of refugees from RS being presently in Norway. After the meeting, the minister Vladusic stated that the attitude of the Norwegian Government is to make it possible to all the refugees from RS and FB&H to choose whether they are to stay in Norway or to return to one of the entities, while the process of repatriation, as he said, will depend on the creating of conditions for the same and on the degree of the reconstruction in both entities. SARAJEVO - The High Representative in B&H, Carl Bildt, demanded the Security Council practically isolate the president in the Presidency of B&H from RS, Momcilo Krajisnik, because 'he failed to deliver the indicted war criminals'. As DPA reports, in his report sent to the Security Council Bildt also reproaches to the president Krajisnik for, as he said, 'closely cooperating with the former RS president, Radovan Karadzic, and asks the international community for the contacts with president Krajisnik in the Presidency of B&H to be reduced to the least possible measure. WARSAW - The OSCE expressed its dissatisfaction with the progress of the elections in the Srem-Baranja District because of a great number of irregularities at all the voting stations, reports DPA. The OSCE Office for Protection of Human Rights, of which 192 representatives observed the elections, criticises the lack of the balloting boxes and lists, the late opening of the voting stations and the change of the electoral rules at the last moment. AMSTERDAM - UN observers foresee an exodus of the Serbs from the Srem- Baranja District, and whether they will stay and to which extent depends exclusively on the readiness of the Croatian president Franjo Tudjman to fulfil his promises in the light of the respecting of the minority rights, comments the Dutch daily 'Hett Parole'. While turning to the present political situation there, the daily concludes that, 'although this were the local elections only, the Croatian president carried out such a serious electoral campaign, obviously wishing to show by the results of the voting what the citizens are about to expect from him at the next elections'. While pointing out that the stay of a part of the Serbs in the Srem-Baranja district depends exclusively on whether Tudjman will fulfil his promise on the giving of the minority rights, the daily reminds us that he is 'well known for his breaking of the given word, as soon as the first real opportunity appears for him'. ZVORNIK - Twice delayed legal proceeding against a sevenmember Muslim terroristic group from Srebrenica, who killed four Serb civilians from Milici, will be held before the grand jury of the Court in Zvornik. Upon the request made by the OSCE's representatives and attorneys from the FB&H, who are defending the accused, the public proceeding was twice delayed. KOZARSKA DUBICA - A requiem to the victims of the Ustashe crimes in the concentration camps of Jasenovac and Donja Gradina will take place in the commemorative area of Donja Gradina on Sunday, May 4. His Eminence the Bishop of Banjaluka, Jefrem, is going to serve a requiem. VIENNA - The OSCE's chairman and chief of the Danish delegation, Nils Helveg Petersen, warned in Vienna that this organisation presently 'has not got more money' for the preparing of the municipal elections in RS and the FB&H, reports AFP. Petersen expressed his regret because the permanent Council of OSCE, which he addressed, was not able to reach an agreement on the raising of the regular budget of the organisation by voluntary contributions of the member-states, stressing that some US$32 million lack for the operation in RS and the FB&H. /end/Copyright © Srpska Novinska Agencija - SRNA Republika SrpskaFrom the Serbian Unity Congress Server at http://www.suc.orgSrpska Republica News Agency (SRNA) Directory - Previous Article - Next Article |
