They will set up as well labs for other exact subjects. /lh/A.A/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[03] Haklaj to be medically treated in Tirane Military HospitalTIRANE, August (ATA) - By Th.Thanasi: After having examined the grave health condition of Fatmir Haklaj, hospitalized in the prison hospital, a group of doctors asked the General Prosecution to transfer him to the Military hospital for more specialized cures, the spokesman of the Prosecution office, told ATA on Saturday.Taking into consideration the request of the medical team, the General Prosecution decided on Friday to transfer the patient Haklaj back to the Tirane Military hospital. Haklaj was injured in Tropoje on August 4 of the current year. The medical examinations show that he is gravely hit on the back of the head. Haklaj was arrested with decision issued by Mirdite court. The press release said that this order asked the ministry of finance to implement with strictness, correctness and toughness, through the general tax directory and the general custom directory, all the laws and regulations in power for the duties of the senior state personalities, officials of elected bodies or to those that belong to the political posts in the organization structure of civil service, regarding the custom fees for the goods which come in the name and account of the above mentioned objects. The Ministry of Finance was asked as well to find out the source and the destination of the goods arriving in Albanian custom points, and to issue the respective announcement close to the Premier and the the state commission for the wealth declaration not less than once a month. /lh/A.A/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[06] Majko orders control on figure of duty and customs workersTIRANE, August 21 (ATA)-By E. Nepravishta, Prime Minister Pandeli Majko on Saturday ordered the adoption of several measures to screen the figure of duty and customs workers, the Premier's press office told ATA.It says that the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Public Order and National Information Service (SHIK) are charged with the implementation of this task. According to this order, the Ministry of Finance is requested to screen the figure of the workers of Customs General Department and Duty General Department. For this purpose, written information is required for every worker of these departments by specialised structures of the Ministry of Public Order and NIS. For the workers who have had temporary residence abroad information is requested also from INTERPOL. Majko orders the reexamination of all crackdowns on the workers of these structures this year. Majko also orders the Ministry of Finance, within September 30, to organise screening of property of all workers of these structures and the extension of this control also to their relatives. /lh/lm/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[07] PM Majko asks halt to abuses in KESHTIRANE, August 21 (ATA)-By E. Nepravishta, Albanian Prime Minister Pandeli Majko on Saturday warned of changes to the leading staff of the Albanian Power Generation and Distribution Firm(KESH).At a meeting held at the Prime Minister's office with KESH leading officials, Majko asked information about the management of the fund of 700 million leks, provided to KESH by the government. On behalf of the state, Majko urged a severe fight against abuses. He also asked information about gathering of incomes and payment of electric power by consumers. As to the payment of electric power by the consumer, the KESH director general, Alfred Paloka, said that 92.5 % of private subjects have paid it, but there are problems with its liquidation by family consumers. Also present at the meeting were Ylli Bufi, Minister of Economy and Privatisation, and Adriana Berberi, deputy Minister of Finance. /y.pa/lm/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[08] Greek premier to visit Albania soonTIRANE, August 21 (ATA)-by I. Paco, Greek Prime Minister Costas Simitis will visit Tirane on Tuesday.This is the third visit for a Greek Prime Minister to Albania and the second for Simitis. The first to visit Albania was Constantine Mitsotakis in 1994, of "new democracy" , the main party of the Greek opposition. Simitis will be accompanied to Tirane by Foreign Minister Jorgos Papandreou, Minister of Press Dimitris Repas and Deputy Minister for National Economy and Public Affairs Rodhula Zisi. Luto, U.S. embassy organised an entertainment activity for the capital's orphans, at the U.S. embassy in Tirane on Saturday.U.S. Deputy ambassador in Tirane Ray Snider, who played together with the orphan children in the yard of the U.S. embassy, said that this was neither a formal initiative nor a publicity on our activity, but only an opinion of the U.S. Army marines, who have long since been on guard at the embassy. The children of the capital's orphanage for several hours played and talked with the personnel of the diplomatic service, who exploited this weekend not only to entertain the children, in a gesture of beneficence, but also to spend moments of relax with the purity of the orphans' nature. /y.pa/lm/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[10] AFOR to begin new role in Albania in SeptemberTIRANE, August 21 (ATA)-Beginning with September 1, the international security force to Albania, known as AFOR, will resume a new role as a supporting and logistic unit.According to the Ministry of Information, the new force, 2500 strong, under the name Western Zone of Communication, will maintain the supply route between the western port of Durres and the Kosova border.
