[06] I exclude a political conflict between Russian and NATO forces; Milo

TIRANE, June 12 (ATA) - By A.Gjakova: Albanian Foreign Minister, Paskal Milo, told ATA on Saturday that he excluded the possibility of a political conflict between Russian forces dislocated in the northern border of Kosove, and NATO forces.

I hope that NATO forces have undertaken such a control more for internal effects in Russia, than for a challenge to NATO troops, said Milo.

He said also that we have now a resolution of the UN Security Council which has precised the authority to cover all the international engagement for the region.

"No special Russian area will exist in Kosove", said Milo.

He added that Russian diplomacy has contributed a lot in the achieving of the Resolution drafted by the Security Council, and now it is hightime for Russia to express its maturity, which is a necessity for respecting the documents approved together.

Milo said that if the agreement starts with such violations, Kosove will have a bad future, and this chance will be not only for Kosove, but for the whole region. Russinas behavior was not reasonable, and I hope that it was caused by inner political motives and not by other aims out of the resolution of UN Security Council, and the agreements achieved with other NATO countries, said Minister Milo. /pas/A.A/

[09] Wave of Kosova illegal emigrants to Italy abates

    VLORE, June 13 (ATA)-By H. Koci,

The flood of the Kosova illegal emigrants starting from the Vlore bay for Italy has abated, the spokesman of the Vlore prefecture police department told ATA.

He explained that the number of Kosova refugees, who try to cross to the Italian shores by speedboats or ships had substantially decreased as a result of the tight measures undertaken by the local police to prevent this traffic.

The port is now brought under the control of the special police forces, while, in cooperation with Guardia Di Finanza, the whole seashore and space within the Vlore bay is being patrolled.

The Kosova illegal emigrants traffic to Italy assumed large proportions especially in the last weeks. Three weeks ago this phenomenon reached very high figures, around 1 000 illegal emigrants in 24 hours.

A special network, many of whose members fell in the hands of the police, helped realise this smuggling.

Two other speedboats, one of which of a dinghy type, were sequestered in successful police operations, also backed by Guardia di Finanza means. /lh/lm/
