[01] MACEDONIAN PREMIER REPEATS HIS STAND THAT TETOVA UNIVERSITY IS AGAINST CONSTITUTION AND ILLEGALTIRANA, FEB 8 (ATA) Macedonian Premier Cervenkovski supported his approach against the legalization of the Tetova University on the necessity of the greater integration of the state.Meanwhile, in the Friday's news conference in Tetova University, its rector Fadil Sulejmani considered a necessity the legalization of the Tetova University. Asked by the BBC correspondent on how does he comment the last pronouncement of the Macedonian Premier, Mr. Sulejmani answered: "The constitution allowed the use of native language even in university education, with the approval of the law applied for the Pedagogic Faculty, that is, it was surpassed what the constitution prohibited. We should consider the reality that the Albanians need 6000 teacher until the years 2000, not to speak about the other staff of different profiles. Will this be to the interest of someone in Macedonia that such a great number of Albanian pupils remain tomorrow without education?" In the news conference, the deputy rector Avni Lika reported that this university is accepted recently in Tirana in the conference of rectors of the Albanian universities. "In this way, the Tetova University has the possibility through this conference to become member even in other conferences of the European universities. Actually in the Tetova University, in the third anniversary of its work, 11 faculties with 26 departments and 200 pedagogues operate, while 2500 students attend studies". /sk/kled/mt/k Albanian Telegraphic Agency[02] PRESIDENT OF KOSOVA DEMANDS SERIOUSNESS FROM BELGRADE FOR MEDIATE TALKS WITH ALBANIANS FOR KOSOVAPRISHTINE, FEB 8 (ATA) - The President of the Republic of Kosova, Dr Ibrahim Rugova, in yesterday's news conference in Prishtine, appealed to the Serbian party "to show seriousness for the talks on Kosova with the Albanian party." He voiced the idea that the Prishtine-Belgrade talks must be held with the mediation of a third international party, as monitor and guarantee.With regard to an invitation for dialogue that the President of rump Yugoslavia, Zoran Lilic, made to the Albanians yesterday by the Serbian military command in Prishtine, Rugova described it "as demagogic and made at a time when Serbian regime is carrying out a great campaign of violence against the Albanians in Kosova, social political activists, students, etc." President Rugova denounced the violence and asked its immediate interruption. "The Serbian regime is showing recently aggressiveness even towards the natural assets of Kosova. "Kosova will not be a colony of Serbia and other former Yugoslav regions," said Dr Rugova. President Rugova hailed and highlighted international commitment to the solution of the question of Kosova. bj/pta/kled/xh/sh/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[03] DEMOCRATIC PARTY CALLS ON CITIZENS TO JUDGE ON THE VIOLENCE ORGANIZED BY SPTIRANA, FEB 7 (ATA) - DPA appealed Friday to Albanian citizens to judge with a cool head and civic, national responsibility, "the violence and the red terror organized by SP in close cooperation with the former Sigurimi groups, red mafia members and some ordinary criminals.""Main SP leaders in districts have encouraged the terrorists who set fire to Berat, Lushnja, Vlora, Fier, Korca, cities, which, during this century, have not been torched even by savagest enemies," says the appeal. "The red mafia seeks to release those who torched, plundered, blocked roads, violated and organized trafficking," says the appeal of DP which accuses SP as author and distributor of slogans, slanders, fraud, "to manipulate the desperate people." Through its appeal, the DP voices its solidarity with the people who have lost their savings in pyramid schemes and assures them that it will demands from the government to adopt concrete measures to make the consequences smaller. DP invites investors of the former company Gjallica to create their assembly to decide on the fate of the assets of the former company. It calls on the people not to follow blindly those forces which for political aims and according to an anti-national scenario aim at creating the country and all the Albanians a drama several times greater than the losses in pyramid schemes. The calls also mentions the fact that these forces have been previously financed with the money stolen by the terrorists of the organization "Albanian Justice Revenge," an organization uncovered in the recent months and which had relations with various defunct Sigurimi segments. "Self-satisfied with the torching and destructions, now the extremists want to protest and demand the release of terrorists. "No tolerance with red terrorists" is the title of an article in this paper. "Democrats will by no means allow that a small number of red terrorists to destabilize the country" writes the paper. "Christian democrats do not recognize the Forum of the left" is the title of another article published in this paper. Under the title "Forum for antidemocracy, serious threat to country's stability" the paper carries opinions of the leaders of the Democratic Party, who denounce today's rally of the left extremists."Peaceful rally of protest," writes the newspaper Zeri i Popullit." "The Forum for Democracy and its members, under the motto 'flowers instead of stones,'" invited the citizens of Tirana to attend the peaceful protest today at 12.00," writes the newspaper. "Investors of Populli foundation seek from the government the money stolen by its people, a 100 per cent return of the money," writes the paper. In the feature "Analysis," the paper has an article entitled "The Party-State model functions in Albania." "Government has lost the mandate of confidence" is the title of an editorial in Republika. The protests and calls against the state show that the Government has lost the mandate of confidence of the people, writes the newspaper. "SP main leaders," writes the newspaper, "assured yesterday in an urgent meeting with their activists in Tirana that the resistance will be made in the name of the formerly politically prisoners of the communist dictatorship, because in this way the effect is greater." Forum for Democracy consists of the Socialist Party, Social Democratic Party, Democratic Alliance Party, National Unity Party, Agrarian Party (Left), Right Democratic Party, Right Republican Party, Democratic Ideal Party (Right.) So far, this forum has not presented any political program, any alternative how to come out of the situation created by the failure pyramid schemes. Kurt Kola, one of the three leaders of this forum, has been an ordinary prisoner and while in prison he was charged with making propaganda, thus received the status of the political prisoner. Koci:The creditors of the collapsed loan-taking company "Gjallica" continue for the third day to protest in Vlora town. The crowd of people gathered on Saturday at about 9.00 in the Flag Square for 30 minutes. Later on the crowd moved towards the municipality and many other people joined it. The crowd shouted slogans: "We want our money", "Down with the government", "Down with the Democratic Party", etc. After that the people moved toward the square in front of the prefecture in "Pavaresia" quarter and they again shouted the same slogans. The crowd reached in some thousands. During the stay in this square for more than an hour, in the middle of the crowd appeared again the written slogans as well as two national flags. In these moments the gatherings made for the Flag Square, where they are expected to continue the protest later. The Supreme Court decided on Friday that the custody form of all the detained of the Gjallica company to be considered at the Tirana Court. By the decision of the Vlora prosecutor's office 12 managers of the Gjallica company and accountants in the Vlora affiliate, as well as its director Fitim Gerxhalliu have been detained. Also, for the commitment of this crime the arrest order for Shemsie Kadria, president of Gjallica company and Gani Kadria, partner and her husband has been issued and they are declared wanted as their destination is still unknown. /s.sh/kei/mt/k Albanian Telegraphic Agency[07] CALM SITUATION IN SCANDERBEG SQUARE IN TIRANA AT 12.00TIRANA, FEB 8 (ATA) - Today, at 12.00 the movement of people and vehicles continued normally in the Scanderbeg Square in Tirana. There was not any effort by SP or DP sympathizers to make for the square.At 11.00, about 10 000 DP sympathizers and activists protested in a peaceful rally against violence and destruction in front of DP headquarters in Tirana, after their request to hold a rally in the Scanderbeg Square on Friday was refused by Police Department in Tirana. Their number kept increasing and DP leaders tried to calm the people who wanted to go the the square. A day before, the Forum for Democracy, consisting of opposition left and right wing parties, reported of a rally in the Scanderbeg Square Saturday at 12.00 in token of solidarity with creditors of the collapsed investment firm Gjallica.
