NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SRBAC - At the second Assembly of the Party of Independent Social-Democrats /SNSD/ in Srbac, attended by the premier of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, was concluded that the number of the members of this party since last year's elections until today was tripled. Regarding the great obligations of socialdemocrats, who on the past elections won in Srbac, the Assembly decided to widen the Municipal Board /OO/ for 15 members, in order to have 35 members in the future.

PRIJEDOR - In Prijedor was held the Solemn Academy dedicated to the April 30, the day of Liberation of the municipality. Beside the representatives of the cultural and economic life of the municipality, the academy was attended by the president of the National Assembly of RS Dragan Kalinic, colonel general Pero Colic, mayor of Banja Luka Djordje Umicevic and delegations of the brotherly municipalities Ana Ljoce from Greece and Pancevo.

BANJA LUKA - On the occasion of May 1. - the International work holiday - organised by the city Banja Luka Syndicate, in the central club of the Home of Army in this city was held the solemn academy. "The syndicate only from 1990, when from the socialpolitic was grown to the interest organisation, started to deal with the protection of the economical-social interests of workers and pensioners", said in the introduction address the president of Syndicate of Banja Luka Rade Radjenovic.

BUENOS AIRES - In Argentina was arrested Dinko Sakic, under suspicion that as the commander of the detention camp Jasenovac he has committed war crimes - was announced in Buenos Aires by the Argentina Interior minister Carlos Korach -report the agencies. "Argentina Government is contented because the police yesterday arrested Sakic" - stressed Korach, not stating the place of arresting. The Croatian Government sent a request to Argentina, for extradition of Sakic, after what the Argentinean federal Judge has immediately ordered his arresting.

ZVORNIK - In Zvornik was held the regular session of the municipal board /OO/ of the Party of Independent Social-Democrats /SNSD/, at which the first 100 days of work of Republika Srpska /RS/ Governemnt was assessed as successful, because, as said, RS came out of isolation and presented itself to the world in more favourable light. According to president of OO SNSD Zvornik Jovo Radic, the result of that is that RS was accepted in the world as equal partner and that many countries are ready to invest in Srpska, by which will significantly be improved the economic and economic situation.

BRCKO - In Brcko was held the Inaugural session of the Association of the families of killed, missing and detained Serbian soldiers and civilians in the past fatherland war, and for the president was chosen Milorad Zimonjic. He announced that, representing 800 families from this category in Brcko, will work on solving problems of accommodation, employment and care about families which nor after the three years in peace have no solved status in Brcko.

BRCKO - The First May's early rising in the Moslem returnee settlement Brod near Brcko, in organisation of Social-democratic Party /SDP/ of B&H, is passing in the peaceful atmosphere - confirmed for SRNA the acting supervisor for Brcko Ian McLeod. "If all pass peacefully until the end, this will be good for RS, its Government and local authorities in Brcko" - stressed McLeod.

ATHENS - Holding the conferences on return of refugees cannot secure the real return, especially because the decisions brought on them have no much to do with real situation in the field - comments the Greek Radio 92 in the report related to the Banja Luka conference. The conclusions of this conference, as well as the one hold in federal part of Sarajevo , will remain dead letter on paper if previously are not created all conditions for their realisation in practice, while first of all must be guaranteed safety for refugees - concludes Radio.

BANJA LUKA - As the sign of remembering the killing of more thousand of civil and Serbian defenders in the Croatian aggression the population of the Western Slavonia, from the bridge near Gradiska were placed the wreaths and flowers into the river Sava. The commemoration, organised by the Organisation of the veterans of Republika Srpska Krajina, Association of expelled Serbs from Croatia and Serbian Krajina in Banja Luka, in cooperation with the Republican association of the families of killed, detained and missing soldiers and civilians of RS, was held after the holy liturgy and requiem in the Synaxis Church in Gradiska.

SARAJEVO - On today's day three years ago around 5 h AM the Croatian military and police forces attacked the Western Slavonia and for two days occupied that part of Republika Srpska Krajina, killing, according to Serbian Orthodox Church, at least three thousand Serbian civilians. In the action known as "Flash", the Croatian forces expelled from that region tens of thousands of Serbs, aborigines in the Western Slavonia. /The review of the journalist of SRNA Snezana Samardzija/.

PRISTINA - Igor, Slobodan and Vladan Mikic from Klina, kidnapped on April 23 by the group of armed Albanians, were freed last night in the village Bica near Klina - was announced by the Serbian informational centre in Pristina. The terrorists have kidnapped 11 Serbs and Montenegrians since the April 22. Two of them were killed, and their bodies were found near Decani, while the destiny of three persons is still unknown - remind the agencies.

BRCKO - At the bridge over the river Sava - the border crossing between Republika Srpska /RS/ and Croatia - the first time after six years met the representatives of the four left parties from RS, Federation B&H and Croatia. The meeting was organised in the framework of the central celebration of "The days of SDPB&H", which is being held since this morning in the settlement, at outskirts of Brcko, Brod and up to now without incidents.

SREBRENICA - The members of the parliament of executive board of municipal assembly of Srebrenica Danko Mirovic and Rade Golic rejected to participate in the work of this body, which president - the American Larry Sempler - has the authorisation to decide in case that Serbian and Moslem members do not reach accord, because of what they do not want to assume the responsibility. In the public announcement, as another reason for their decision, stated that "they do not want to work in the organ which is suspending the RS signs".

SARAJEVO - In the occasion of the anniversary of Radio Serbian Sarajevo the director of this information house Bosko Siljegovic reminded that one year earlier the Assembly of the Serbian Sarajevo have decided to merge two local radio stations Radio Ilidza and Radio Grbavica, which contribution in the fatherland war is immeasurable. "Radio Ilidza and Radio Grbavica were founded and developed in the war, and we have continued their job. We dare not forget our colleagues who gave their lives in creating radio Serbian Sarajevo ", said Siljegovic for SRNA.

BANJA LUKA - In Banja Luka was not organised the celebration of First May - the International Work Holiday, so the citizens organised in their own engagements the trips to the neighbouring resorts - Serbian Toplice, beside Vrbas and on Banj-brdo. In the occasion of the First May last night organised by the Banja Luka city Syndicate in the central club of the Home of RS Army was held the Festive academy.

SARAJEVO - The visit of doctor Astrdi Heiberg, the president of the International federation of Association of Red Cross and Red Semicresent, and George Weber, the secretary general of this organisation to B&H represent the support in efforts of the entity offices of Red Cross /RC/ in making National Association of Red Cross of B&H. In the announcement of this organisation, forwarded to SRNA, is said that Heiberg and Weber will meet the co-presiding of the Council of Ministers of B&H Haris Silajdzic, governor of the Sarajevo Canton and president of the cantonal RC of Sarajevo Midhat Haracic and the high officials of the international community, including the high representative for B&H Carlos Westendorp.

DRVAR - The responsibility for crime and vandalism in Drvar against the citizens of the Serbian nationality and their property bear exclusively the international organisations and institutions, as well s the organs of administration of Federation B&H /FB&H/ at all levels. This was assessed in the joint announcement of the Coordinating Board of the Association of refugees and expelled persons from the municipalities of western Krajina and the delegate's club of the Coalition for Drvar forwarded to SRNA.

DRVAR - The High Representative Carlos Westendorp warned that the Croatian authorities in Drvar will bear sanctions if they do not stop abusing and killing Serbs returnees to this city. "The main responsibility is on the Croatian authorities and if they do not comply with the requirements of the international community, they will be sanctioned", warned Westendorp in Drvar after the meeting with Milan Marceta, the president of municipal assembly.

SARAJEVO - Three years ago flashed the darkness of "The Flash" - action of slaughtering and expelling Serbs from Western Slavonia. The president of Croatia Franjo Tudjman, three days later offers the "peaceful reintegration" of the Republic Serbian Krajina /RSK/ into the communistic borders of Croatia, while threatening with the action "Storm", by which, some time later was concluded the occupation of the remaining part of this Serbian state. Besides Srem-Baranja region, for the there Serbs was intended the exile by "peaceful reintegration", assesses in the review the SRNA journalist Snezana Sekulic.

BELGRADE - The Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ assessed that the western forces wish to break down Serbia and FR Yugoslavia and pointed out on the fact that after "partial and ultimately inappropriate decision of Contact Group" the attacks of Albanian separatists in Kosovo became more violent and frequent. In the announcement was stressed that the condemnation of the leaders of Serbian Albanians fell behind, who helped "with every day intrusions of armed groups from Albania".
