Expressing his honour for speaking at the Academy and adding "a few words to the longest story in Serbian language - the story of St. Sava", Serbian writer and academic Mateja Beckovic said:"St. Sava is the certain ruler of Serbian people and Serbs have been telling the story of him for centuries, but that story does not get older, or tired, nor it can be stopped, or told to end".

AMSTERDAM - The International Crisis Group supported to postpone the indefinite decision on the status of Brcko for five years, and to extend the international administration and patronage in the Municipality for next 18 months. The suggestion of the final solution of the status of Brcko in form of a short proposal is before the Arbitrage Commission and has great chances to be accepted generally.

HAMBURG - Symbols through which the International Community High Representative Carlos Westendorp and the international community are "decorating sovereignty of B&H unfortunately do not have nothing with internal life of this country" - concludes a German conservative daily "Welt". Analysing relations in B&H, "Welt" concludes that "where hatred and discord exist, nonexisting community has to be drawn on the drawing board". The paper reminds that Westendorp have refused the joint proposal of Serbs, Croats and Muslim of an appearance of the new bills, "because there was recognisable division into Republika Srpska and B&H Federation on them".

BANJA LUKA - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic received in Banja Luka the premier of Kingdom Denmark Poul Nyrup Rasmussen and, after short talks, expressed contentment with its visit, assessing that the Denmark is the country which has a great reputation in EU. The president of RS informed Danish premier about his previous talks with newly appointed premier of RS Milorad Dodik and expressed the hope that these contacts will be in the future more. The Danish premier stated that he is aware of the social problems in RS and accentuated the need of full respecting the Dayton Agreement and universal values of respect of human rights.

SARAJEVO - The spokesman of High Representative for civil affairs in B&H Duncan Boullivant conveyed to SRNA the stance of the Office of High Representative /OHR/ that Banja Luka is the appropriate place for holding the sessions of National Assembly of RS, because that is, as it is said, the greatest city in RS and its natural capital. Commenting the proposal of International Crisis Group /ICG/ that the definitive decision about the status of Brcko would be postponed for five years, and the international administration and patronage over the municipality continues next 18 months, Boulivant confirmed that the arbitrage will be held in the middle of March. "Concerning the ICG OHR welcomes its work which is very useful, but it has no any competence regarding the implementation of Dayton Agreement, as well as Brcko", thinks Boulivant adding that "OHR has only one thing on its mind - full implementation of Dayton agreement". "The Brcko issue is essential and we acknowledge its importance as for RS so also for Federation B&H", stressed Boulivant and added that "Brcko for the time being remains in RS, and in favour of that is the fact that in the past two years was not brought any decision which would deny that".

BANJA LUKA - The spokesman of Socialistic Party of Republika Srpska /SP RS/ Igor Radojcic stated in Banja Luka that this party expects the explanation because of current sacking in some enterprises, "in order to prevent the cadre revenge". "The socialists welcome the cadre renewal, performed by new government and are making their efforts to bring patriotic and skilled cadre on the accountable posts, which skill and results of work will be over their party affiliation" - stressed Radojcic. BELGRADE - Croatian customs did not allow yesterday Serbian Orthodox church (SPC) to carry across the borders St. Sava's small packages intended for children of the region of Srem and Baranja - writes "Democracy". The paper is citing as a reason for this act claims of the Croatian customs that the packages can not be imported through SPC, because it is not "registered for humanitarian affairs". Croatian customs officials proposed that it should be done by "Karitas" or "The Red Cross", or the gifts should be cleared through customs as any other goods".
