Srpska Republika News Agency (SRNA), 97-11-18Srpska Republica News Agency (SRNA) Directory - Previous Article - Next ArticleFrom: The Serbian Unity Congress Server at http://www.suc.orgNOV. 18, 1997 EVENINGNEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKASARAJEVO - At the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Republika Srpska (RS) on November 22 and 23, the voting process will be same as at the recent municipal elections - stated for SRNA the President of RS Republic Election Commission (RIK) Nedjo Draskovic, and added that the number of registered voters in RS until now is 1 147 906.SARAJEVO - The RS leaders hailed readiness of OSCE to enable additional registration and voting at parliamentary elections for citizens which living in RS but did not vote at municipal elections. According to agreement, the voting and counting of ballots in Bosnia and Herzegovina Federation (FB&H), Croatia and Federal Republic Yugoslavia will be supervised, at all pooling stations, by RS supervisors appointed by RS Government. Control of ballots from foreign countries will be conducted in Vienna by two RS supervisors and their counting will be conducted in Lukavica counting centre. During the meeting in Pale the President and the Vice-President of RS National Assembly Dragan Kalinic and Miroslav Vjestica, the Vice-President of RS Government Velibor Ostojic and the member of Provisional Election Commission (PIK) Slobodan Kovac warned the Head of OSCE mission in B&H Robert Frowick and his deputy Rihard Elerkman that "equal access of all parties to the media is not provided." BANJALUKA - The President of RS Biljana Plavsic and the High Representative of international community Carlos Westendorp, in attendance of many guests, opened airport "Mahovljani" in Banjaluka for civilian and commercial flights. "This is an important event which contributes to RS opening to the world" - said Mrs. Plavsic. SERBIAN GORAZDE - The Vice-President of RS Government Velibor Ostojic stated that the RS Government will participate in financing of the future refugee settlement of 50 houses in Serbian Gorazde. KISELJAK - In spite of international community and the Muslim leaders pressures on Bosnian Croats to abolish existing of Croatian community Herzeg-Bosnia, the sixth anniversary of hers founding is marked in Kiseljak. SARAJEVO - According to OSCE PIK decision the pre-election silence in RS will last 24 instead of 48 hours. BANJALUKA - At the press conference in Banjaluka the RS President Biljana Plavsic assessed that opening of the "Mahovljani" airport in Banjaluka is an important step for RS and for forthcoming parliamentary elections at which the RS people will decide which kind of National Assembly wants. The RS Minister for Transport and Communications Nedeljko Laic thanked to OHR and SFOR Command which assisted in opening of the airport, and emphasised that the RS authorities will perform flight control. SARAJEVO - The House of Representatives of B&H Parliament ratified, at the fifth session in Sarajevo, the Agreement with the London Club of Creditors about the old debt of 404 million US dollars redemption. The delegates from RS and FB&H appointed new Minister for Trade and Customs Mirsad Kurtovic instead of Hasan Muratovic which is appointed for B&H Ambassador in Croatia. BIJELJINA - The President of Socialist Party of RS (SPRS) Zivko Radisic emphasised at the SPRS tribune in Bijeljina that it is high time for RS people to say at the early parliamentary elections that he is for RS, united constitutional system and the whole RS territory. BELGRADE - The President of Democratic Party (DS) Zoran Djindjic will participate at the Serbian National Union (SNS) pre-election rally in Banjaluka - announced the DS Information service. "By giving the support to SNS the DS will once again express support to idea of democratisation and ruling of the law in all areas in which Serbian people lives" - said the DS statement.
