NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president from Republika Srpska (RS) in the B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, and president of the RS National Assembly, Dragan Kalinic, received the charge d'affaires of the US and British Embassies to Sarajevo, Michael Parmly and Ian Mash, respectively, to inform them of the Agreement on Special Parallel Relations between RS and FR Yugoslavia (FRY). The two presidents informed French ambassador, Yves Godel and German ambassador Johanes Praisinger and a representative of Carl Bildt's office, of the Agreement, in their separate visits.

BEOGRAD - The president of the Democratic Party (DS) Vojislav Kostunica, stated regarding the signing of the Agreement on special relations between RS and FRY that, "contrary to usual custom in this area, the signatory parties are not equal, and the key decisions will be taken by FRY, as in Dayton Slobodan Milosevic took decisions detrimental for RS", stated Kostunica in Belgrade.

BEOGRAD - The RS senator, publicist Dragos Kalajic, stated that the Agreement on special relations arrived "very late, but not too late for implementation of the will of people on both sides of the Drina". "Belgrade is to be blamed for delay. Belgrade policy went into abyss of ignorance and discouragement, capitulations and betrayal, so that the Agreement looks like a wonder of God's gift and enlightenment", Kalajic stated for SRNA.

BEOGRAD - The president of the Serbian Liberal Party (SLS) Nikola Milosevic, is doubtful that the Serbs in RS would have a real and permanent use from the Agreement on Special Relations with FRY. "It is very unlikely that the RS Serbs would have use from this document, but it will rather serve current domestic political needs of Serbia's president Slobodan Milosevic and his associates", stated the SLS leader.

THESALONIKI - From the signing of the Agreement on Special Parallel Relations between RS and FRY, Slobodan Milosevic benefits the most at this moment, writes the Greek paper "Elephterotiphia", and explains that Belgrade buried the hatchet with the Serbs over the Drina river". The establishing of the parallel relations with Pale, is Milosevic' s message to the West not to interfere into internal affairs of the Serbia, and that he still believes he is the Serb guarantee of the Dayton agreement.

ROME - The Agreement regulating the special relations of RS and FRY is in the spirit of the Dayton agreement, concludes the Italian press agency ANSA. There are no many commentaries on the Agreement, but the letter to Pope in which he is threatened murder if he visit Sarajevo are still in the focus of attention.
