SRNA REVIEW OF DAILY NEWS, Aug. 18, 1996Srpska Republica News Agency (SRNA) Directory - Previous Article - Next ArticleFrom: Mirjana Petrovic <[email protected]>SARAJEVO - Vicepresident and acting president of Republika Srpska (RS), Biljana Plavsic, and the RS National Assembly presi dent, Momcilo Krajisnik, talked in Pale with IFOR ground forces commander general Michael Walker on overcoming difficulties con cerning the munitions dump of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) in the village of Margetici, near Sokolac. After a twohour meeting, they were not willing to give any statement, except for general Walker, who said in passing that the Operation for de stroying the ammunition in this warehouse will start tomorrow morning and is expected to be completed in two days. MARGETICI - IFOR personnel started an operation for moving the ammunition from the VRS storehouse in the village of Margeti ci, near Sokolac, staid IFOR liaison officer Massimo Panici to SRNA's reporter. According to him, about 2,000 IFOR soldiers will participate in the operation which will be completed by the end of the day or tomorrow. SARAJEVO - The Information Service of the VRS Headquarters, issued a communique concerning what is happening in the village of Margetici, near Sokolac. The communique, released by SRNA in its entirety, says that this open threat to use force - in no way provoked by the VRS - represents a serious provocation, possibly provoking an incident and jeopardising the further implementation of the Dayton agreement. KOZARSKA DUBICA - On the occasion of the Transfiguration of our Lord Jesus Christ and of the sixth anniversary of the forma tion of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS), a popular assembly is expected to take place tomorrow in Kozarska Dubica, near the Mos tanica Monastery. SDS candidates Biljana Plavsic - president - Momcilo Krajisnik - joint Presidency - and Aleksa Buha - speaker of the RS National Assembly - are expected to address assembly. ZVORNIK - Seven parties from RS and two from the Croat Muslim Federation will participate in the September elections in the Municipality of Zvornik, stated the Municipal Electoral Commission secretary Miladin Ristic for SRNA. SARAJEVO - The International Police Task Force (IPTF), and police officers from the CroatMuslim Federation will in the future organise joint patrols in the parts of Sarajevo inhabited by the Serbs in order to prevent the mistreatment of the remain ing Serbs, reports Radio Deutsche Welle.
