SRNA REVIEW OF DAILY NEWS, March 27, 1996Srpska Republica News Agency (SRNA) DirectoryFrom: Mirjana Petrovic <[email protected]>SARAJEVO - The vicepresident of the Republika Srpska (RS), Velibor Ostojic, and the RS foreign minister, Aleksa Buha, talked in Pale with the British ambassador to Sarajevo, Brian Hopkins, on current political situation, the release of war prisoners and the upcoming elections. The British ambassador stated after the meeting that the aim of his visit was to talk with RS representa tives on the current situation and the future of peace in the RS and MuslimCroat Federation Union. The RS foreign minister con- firmed that the RS representatives informed Mr. Hopkins of the release of war prisoners who should have been released two months ago under the Dayton agreement, which obligation was not ful filled by the other parties. BRCKO - Radoslav Bogicevic, the president of the Brcko Municipality Executive Board and a member of the Serb delegation at negotiations between representatives of nine cities in the RS and the MuslimCroat Federation, stated that the parties did not arrive at an agreement about any of the pressing issues. "We discussed freedom of movement, the return of refugees and the re building of the two entities, and it could be said that the exchange of views was of use", stated Bogicevic. BEOGRAD - A final agreement between the RS and Yugoslav authorities on changes in the existing double customs regime should be reached by April 1, writes the Belgrade weekly magazine "Telegraf". While referring to statements of the RS premier Rajko Kasagic and RS minister of finance Novak Kondic, the "Telegraf" writes that the Yugoslav customs service offered the RS authority a solution which could be satisfactory for both sides. HAMBURG - The German political weekly "Novo" accused the Hague Tribunal of "running a shameful and illegal campaign against the Serbs". "In stead of pursuing the truth and justice, the Hague Tribunal has the task of preparing the ideological foundation for the construction of global power structures for the next 100 years", claim "Nova". CLEVELAND - The implementation of the civilian part of the Dayton agreement is lagging behind the military one, assessed Carl Bildt, and added that because of this, Bosnia's future, compared with its vision, is very "clumsy". The U.S. Department of Defense decided to extend the NATO mission to include the civilian implementation of the Dayton agreement, while NATO troop commanders are warned that the military part of the implementa tion is going to fail unless the civilian part is moved from this deadlock. SARAJEVO - Ten days ago the CroatMuslim Federation Police arrested a Serb translator employed with the International Police Task Forces in Sarajevo, stated UN spokesman Alexander Ivanko. According to him, the UN learned of the arrest yesterday, while the CroatMuslim Police refuses to announce the reason for the arrest. SARAJEVO - The secretary of the RS Red Cross, Svanimr Djok ic, received last night in Pale a delegation of German humanitar ians, led by the chief of the German Red Cross logistics depart ment, Hans Heinrich Bernard Stern. The talks, attended by repre sentatives of the ICRC and the Yugoslav Red Cross, pertained to the humanitarian situation in the RS, which particular attention paid the refugees from Serb Sarajevo. /end/
