Sacirbey repeated a strict disapproval of his government of any option of postponement or change in the decisions on giving up the occupied parts of Sarajevo to the B-H Federation authorities stressing that about 5,OOO Islamic volunteers fighting in the B-H army would leave Bosnia in due time. B-H diplomacy head expressed his state's wish to become a NATO member state. /end/ A.S.

[02] NEGOTIATIONS ON SEPARATION EAST OF TUZLA

Tuzla, Dec 3O, 1995 (Press TWRA) - Negotiations between the local authorities of the B-H Federation and "Republika Srpska" were held yesterday afternoon at a neutral site in the presence of IFOR as a mediator. Representative of the Federal authorities was a governor of the Tuzla- Podrinje canton Izet Hadzic while Dragomir Kervic represented Serb entity - Ugljevik, Zvornik, Sekovici, Lopare and south part of the Kalesija county.

They discussed the Dayton maps for the concerned area by which eight, currently B-H army held Bosniak villages - Vitinica, Nezuk, Zaseok, Kovacevic, among them, are joined the Serb entity. On the other hand, some Serb villages, currently under Serb control - Potras, Micici, Ostojici, Kovacici, Konjikovici, Zavrsje, Sarici, Savici, Prelovina, Dzemat, Ravne NJive, Gavrici, Savcici, Osmaci with the helmets of Kula, Podkakanj, Kalajdzici and Serb villages of Visori, Miladici, Lukavica, etc. in accord with the Dayton agreement, are included in the B-H Federation. Serbs are interested in the possibility of using the Snijeznica lake, near Ugljevik held by the B-H army. Serbs want to keep the top of Mt. Stolice and Banj Brdo attached to the B-H Federation. Negotiations on the likely exchanges continue. /end/ A.S.

[03] NO POSTPONEMENT FOR SARAJEVO, SAYS L. SMITH

Banjaluka, Dec 3O, 1995 (Press TWRA) - "I am not authorized to change deadlines planned by the Dayton agreement. I can change some things but it does not imply political decision on bringing back some parts of Sarajevo under the B-H government authorities. I am in charge of the 1st annex of the peace agreement referring to military issues," said the IFOR commander, adm. L.Smith after the meeting with the "vice-president of Republika Srpska." /end/

    [04] ROCK STARS TO SARAJEVO

Sarajevo, Dec 3O, 1995 (Press TWRA) - A New Year concert, which many world TVs will broadcaste, will be held in the Sarajevo National Theatre. Pop stars, coming from abroad to Sarajevo, to take part at the concert, include Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, George Michael. /end/

[05] BOSNIAN ARMY DENIED CARDINAL PULJIC'S STATEMENT

Sarajevo, Dec 3O, 1995 (Press TWRA) - The B-H army press center released a denial of the statement of the Sarajevo cardinal Vinko Puljic issued on the B-H TV program dedicated to him, broadcasted on Dec 23, this year in the New Year's program.

Puljic said: "Neretvica, Vares, Krizancevo Selo, Grabovica, Dreznica, Uzdol, Doljani are something that our Muslim brothers should be ashamed of. B-H army units, which in the central Bosnian conflict were actually Muslim troops, destroyed 3O% of the archbishopric. I deeply regret over the crimes committed against Muslim population, believers, sacred objects and property, regardless of the perpetrator - Serb soldier or HVO extremists. Yet, it did not give the right to the B-H army soldiers to commit crimes. Unfortunately, they perpetrated severe crimes which in a moment, brought me into a painful and unenviable position.

"The respond of the B-H army states: "Estimates that the B-H army destroyed as much as 3O% of archbishopric is simply contrary to the facts. The B-H army units were not fighting at any single inch of the territory to cleanse it ethnically. On the contrary, during the most fierce conflicts between the B-H army and HVO, Bosnian troops were several times issued an order to protect civilians at the fighting areas. Special order protected churches, its property, priests, what was observed by the B-H army. In June, 1993 in accord with a special order, particularly in central Bosnia, media started a campaign to stop people fleeing from their homes which is a form of ethnic cleansing and discrimination.

Also, B-H army cannot accept a logic of setting artificial symmetry in the blame for the committed war crimes. We specially cannot accept that acting of individuals and groups in the B-H army, already sanctioned by our courts, are referred to by cardinal as a policy and orientation of the whole army while the acting of HVO, whose atrocities are incomparable by their range and the outcome and at the same time described as occasional crimes committed by extremists, amnestying in that way the policy which encouraged massive, drastic human right violations, organized genocide and culturocide. /end.A.S.

[06] CROAT EXTREMISTS - A PROBLEM, SAYS CATHOLIC PRIEST

New York, Zenica, Dec 3O,1995 (Press TWRA) - "We are good people with bad leaders," said a catholic priest in Zenica, don Stipan Radic in the interview released this week in "The New York Times". Speaking about those who insist on division brought about by war, pater Radic says: "Those are Croat political leaders but also our Catholic priests in often very conservative Church hierarchy among Croats. He also remarks that extreme Croat leaders encouraged Croat to leave Zenica and now they try to avert them from their returning. /end/ A.S.

[07] IZETBEGOVIC ON THE ELECTIONS IN B-H

Sarajevo, Dec 31, (Press TWRA) - Speaking about forthcoming general elections for Parliament and other government bodies for the whole of B-H and its two entities, Bosnian president in the interview for yesterday's Sarajevo daily "Oslobodjenje", said:

" Apart form emergence of new parties and coalitions and intensive election campaign, we do not expect anything sensational till next elections. It is not good to foresee electorial results, but first, I believe the so-called national parties would be the main political factor. Beside HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union), a comparatively strong Croatian but pro - Bosnian orientated party, partly derived from HDZ will appear, SDS (Serb Democratic Party) in Serb entity will break up into three fractions: Chetnik being relatively strong, less powerful Milosevic's supporters and Serb Citizen Council (SGV) that will, if organized as a political party, gather most Serbs in Federation but without great influence. As for SDA (Party of Democratic Action), if new persons appear along with the old ones and under condition of preserving unity, which is not quite certain, I believe it will get nearly all Bosniak votes. Parties chatterers include almost all current so-called citizen parties, will get relatively small number of votes, smaller that they have in parliament now. Exception might be Rasim Kadic's Liberals who represented a significant trend even in the communist period. Of course, surprises of all sort are likely to happen. People's soul, after all what happened," is vulnerable and sensitive, so the predictions are uncertain.'

At the New Year's reception Alija Izetbegovic foresees that the multiparty race in 1996 will be very fierce, saying: "SDA will take part at the elections and, like all others, hopes for good result. In this war, SDA members made great sacrifices but also mistakes. We will let people evaluate them. /end/ A.S.

[08] ACTION FOR JUST PEACE IN B-H RELEASED ITS GOALS

Zagreb, Dec 31, 1995 (Press TWRA) - Members of "The Action for Just Peace in B-H", released at the press conference that they, as non-governmental, non-party, and all-Croat association, will support maintenance of integral B-H, establishment of true Federation between Bosniaks and Croats being basis of general reintegration of B-H and strengthening the awareness of "tragic results of unjust peace reached in Dayton and Paris."

President of the Action is Zvonimir Separovic and deputy presidents Berislav Andrijevic, Jerko Doko, Mate Gogic, Ante Ravlic and Anto Kovacevic while the members of initiative and establishing Board of the Action are gen. Martin Spegelj, Zvonimir Trusic, Tomislav Buljan, Ivica Glamocak, Zeljko Nuic, fra Ivan Bubalo, Iko Stanic, Grga Jelinic, Anto Matkovic, Nikola Gagulic, Lucija Vencl, Zeljko Vencl, Mario Filipi, Sime Vrbat and Drago Majic. [09] MUJJAHIDS - WESTERN AGENTS, SAYS IRANIAN DIPLOMAT

Zagreb, Dec 31, 1995 (Press TWRA) - "Mujjahids are the result of western propaganda. There is only one group in Iran calling themselves Mujjahidin and they are enemies to Iranian government. Yhe USA support them. During the Iranian revolution, they were fighting against Iranian people planting bombs in towns, killing the innocent. Finally, many of them fled from Iran and live now in the West. They are backed by the USA and other western states. We demand their to extradition to Iran in order to sentence them before our courts as they deserve that. The problem of mujjahidin is the question of propaganda not reality. There is not any Iranian among the mujjahidin in B-H. No new conflicts will break out between Croats and Bosniaks caused by mujjahids since Iran as the most powerful Islamic state will not permit that, as well as Croatian and B-H governments. The three states cooperate very well. I did not think of the possibility for mujjahids to be used as western services' agents in B-H but I know that they were used in such a way. They killed a lot of people by someone's order. Western uses Iranians as its spies describing them like mujjahidin. I cannot speak about mujjahidin from other states, but Iranian ones are supervised and controlled by Western. Their main seats are in Baghdad and Paris, where terrorist groups meet and plan assassinations and their spying and terrorist operations by the instructions of Western secret services. They killed many Iranian politicians and common people. Who are the mujjahidin in Bosnia is not known to me, but we know that Bosnia does not need soldiers, it has enough of their own. They need military equipment. None has come from Iran to B-H as they do not need manpower. Where the mujjahidin in Bosnian come from I do not know," said Iranian ambassador to Zagreb, Jawad Muhammad Asayesh Zarchi in the interview for Croatian weekly Nacional. In the same interview Zarchi says: "We support the peace agreement, although not just, as it is accepted by Bosnian govt. and is better than war. The USA has become the most powerful factor in this area and must fulfil all promise from Dayton. /end/ A.S.

[10] SERB INTELLECTUALS WORSE THAN MOB - SAYS MIRKO KOVAC

Split, Dec 31, 1995 (Press TWRA) - "If you do not put them on top of the list of disgust, Serb nationalist intellectuals feel to be offended. Popular among Serb liberal intellectuals is a Russian, Rovinski, who travelled through Serbia a century ago and made a record on Serb intellectuals, valid today. He writes - elsewhere, intellectuals are above the mob; in Serbia, the intellectuals are bellow the mob. The same is today, so it is not surprise that Serb police is more tolerant than the Academy, or the military HQ than Serb Church," said in the interview for "Feral Tribune", a writer and dissident Mirko Kovac, an emigrant from Belgrade, who lives in Rovinj (Istria, Croatia). Kovac, a Serb, born in Bileca (south-east B-H), publishes his books in B-H, Croatia and abroad, criticizing current regimes in Belgrade and Zagreb. /end/ A.S
