TUDJMAN'S STATEMENTS ON BOSNIA IN "LE FIGARO" CONDEMNED

Zagreb, Oct 3, 1995 (Press TWRA) - Due to last week's interview

of Croatian president Tudjman for the French daily "Figaro" and

the repeated thesis on Bosnia and Bosniaks, chairman of the

Action of Social Democrats of Croatia Milko A. Tripalo, once

leader of "Croatian spring" 1997 who, instead of Tito's

successor, became a dissident, said for Croatian TV: "Those

Tudjman's statements could lead us to another war with Bosniaks."

Once a political prisoner in ex-Yugoslavia Dobroslav Paraga

who testified on communist torture at the US Congress and current

chairman of the Croatian Party of Right "1861" said in the

interview for Croatian weekly: "The latest Tudjman's statements

like those in "Figaro" show that he is still preoccupied with

carve-up of Bosnia. Regarding to "leading Muslims to European

civilization", I do not know if Tudjman's allies want to destroy

him or he alone is doing that. To speak in this manner about our

allies whose sincere friends or at least allies we should be, is

ultimately irresponsible and rude. Those people have always been

Europeans and such statement is a clear provocation. If we look

at Bosnian architecture and culture in general, we can ask who is

to be taught and Europeizied. Islamic mark which Bosnia has

certainly is not a drawback but the opposite. It is a wealth

belonging to this part of Europe and Bosnian alone. Why does not

the Pope convert to Catholicism the Muslims in Sarajevo while

Tudjman thinks that he should do that? Their religion should be

left to their feelings without getting involved in it."

Political commentator Marinko Culic says in "Feral Tribune"

that Tudjman did not notice that Izetbegovic visited Paris before

him and was paid much more honour by the authorities and public

than Tudjman. "Le Figaro" which released the interview did not

comment Tudjman's visit to France at all.

Paris - Luc Rosenzweig in his article written in "Le Mond"

under title "Shamelessness" said: "Our possibilities to feel

disgusted are limited while being permanently provoked by

Yugoslav drama, so it was easy to let oneself flow in the river

of cathode words and odd statements of the guests to Elysee's

Palace that day Croatia's president Tudjman: "Our duty is to

integrate Bosnian Muslims into European society."At least, the

man is frank. Under military laurels, rude soldier's speech,

philosophy of the barracks emerges racism model a la Balkans.

Self assured by German and Vatican unction, this man in his great

goodness, appoints himself a solicitor and a fraud of the poor=20

despised hanging around Sarajevo. As if those men and women

needed the "passport Tudjman" to be equal in "European society.

Save me from my friends...

There is more shamelessness in a single sentence delivered

under gold and luxury of the official palaces than in an hour on

TF1 where the open flies are replaced by naked breasts and high

school jokes. Fast worn-out Gaellic entertainers should force

those who make program to look over our borders. Remember this

name: Tudjman"
