HRI-Visits

HRI

Combined Resources for Effective Policy Making

Executive Summary of HRI-Visits

The greater Boston area contains a rich concentration of academic, research and business organizations that focus on international relations, foreign affairs, negotiation and dispute resolution. The purpose of the HRI-Visits project is to enhance the relationship between the Greek-American and international community and policy experts on issues concerning Greece. Invited policy makers have the opportunity to meet with members of the Greek-American, academic and professional communities in Boston, New York and Washington D.C. in order to engage in productive discussions regarding the future of Greece.

The HRI-Visits project is led by two members of the Hellenic Resources Institute, Dimitrios Keridis and Thomas Varvitsiotis. In their words, "the purpose of the visits is to promote Greek-American friendship and strengthen the communication link between the Greek public policy makers and the American academic community."

The program of the visits, which lasts 10 days, engages the visiting members of the Greek House of Parliament in constructive dialogue with some of the most well known scholars and political figures on public policy, negotiation, dispute resolution, strategy and the Balkans.

The HRI-Visits provides a vehicle for several extraordinary results:
