Information

SAMIZDAT is a weekly review of analysis and criticism. Its starting point is that nowadays there is no lack of news nor of informations - certainly not so in Greece. Everything is known, we just do not strive to find real information, to analyse it, to understand its meaning. Anything may be said freely, but political correctness leads to self-censorship and half-truths.

SAMIZDAT tries to function as a guide to the information chaos - to be an opinion - letter instead of a newsletter, to offer interpretations. And to provide people who have an opinion with the opportunity to publish their opinion - freely.

It hopes it will function as a meeting-point of opinions, of exchange of views, of discussion.

"Samizdat" refers to the self-published (usually photocopied or polygraphed) underground Press of dissidents in the Soviet Union. The term has been used to denote publications trying to tell unpleasant things outside established and "proper" channels.

SAMIZDAT is published by a group of journalists; its offices are at 32 OMIROU Str. Athens - Greece. One can reach it at (3094) 686668, phone/fax (301) 80 15 797, e-mail: [email protected]
